LEGO® Education App Update 2024: Extended Support for EV3 and WeDo 2.0

We're excited to bring you the latest news regarding LEGO® Education's continued app support. Following an official notice from LEGO® Education, we have great updates about the EV3 and WeDo 2.0 applications.

Previously, there were concerns that both apps would be discontinued soon. However, LEGO® has responded to feedback with a significant update: the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 and LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 Apps will remain available for download on both Apple and Google app stores until at least August 2024. This decision underlines LEGO® Education's commitment to providing durable and long-term valuable products, especially in the realm of educational apps.

As educators, you understand the challenges of exiting an educational app halfway through the school year. LEGO®'s decision to extend support for these apps is a testament to their dedication to the education community.

Transitioning to LEGO® Education Spike and BricQ Motion

Looking ahead, the next generation of LEGO® Education encompasses two streams: robotics and coding, and STEM and engineering. For those accustomed to the EV3 or WeDo 2.0 experience, the LEGO® Education Spike series is the perfect transition. And if you're seeking something akin to the discontinued LEGO® Education's Simple and Powered Machines, the LEGO® Education BricQ Motion is your go-to solution.

Each stream offers Essential Kits for Kindergarten to Grade 5 and Prime Kits for Grade 6 and above. These grade recommendations are approximate, so feel free to contact your STEM Sales Representative at Spectrum for more tailored advice.
